Precipitator Post/Stand Off Insulators
|
One of the most overlooked insulators on a precipitator is the stand off insulator. Stand off insulators provide points
of support in long buss runs to maintain adequate clearances between the high voltage buss and grounded precipitator
components. Stand off insulators are found in buss ducts to center the buss within the duct and also within precipitator
penthouses to suspend exposed busses from the penthouse roof. |

As with other insulators, stand off insulators are selected for the environment in which they are being used and for
the voltages with which they will be used. Stand off insulators are available in both porcelain and alumina.
