Reverse Gas Baghouse
The reverse gas fabric filter system offers a simple design with few moving parts thus resulting in easy maintenance and low O&M costs. Other features of our Reverse gas design include:
- Applicable to larger systems 50,000 to 4 million acfm
- Long bag life
- Reduced filtration rates (air to cloth ratio)
- Use of sonic horns to increase the effectiveness of reverse gas cleaning
- However the RG design has a higher capital cost and greater real estate requirement.

HRC has a significant amount of operating experience with large RG type fabric filters on coal-fired
boilers with some installations greater than 800 MW in size. The combined installations of both HRC
and GEESI/MET provides Hamon Research-Cottrell with the largest installed coal-fired boiler data base
of any other APC supplier.
