Hamon Research-Cottrell - Air Pollution Control
With over 100 years of experience in the field of Air Pollution Control, Hamon Research-Cottrell can address and resolve all of your effluent gas emission reduction needs to meet present and future standards. We design, build and maintain:
Electrostatic Precipitators
Fabric Filter Baghouses
- Fabric filters are playing an ever-increasing role for utility flyash collection as emissions requirements become more strict and as mercury control requirements loom.
- Hamon Research-Cottrell provides a unique technical offering with its Low Pressure High Volume pulse jet design which is especially suited to large coal fired boiler plants.
- Hamon Research-Cottrell specializes in the conversion retrofit of LPHV filters into existing electrostatic precipitator casings – an approach that can save utilities time and money.
Dry Flue Gas Desulfurization (FGD) systems
- Hamon Research-Cottrell offers both rotary atomizer and two fluid nozzle spray dryer/fabric filter dry FGD systems for utility and industrial applications.
Wet Gas Scrubbers
Wet Gas Scrubbers Plus
Thermal DeNOx SNCR Systems
- Hamon Research-Cottrell enjoys the support of Exxon Mobil as its licensor for Exxon Mobil technology for SO2, NOx, and particulate control at petrochemical refineries.
- Hamon Research-Cottrell exclusively provides the ExxonMobil Wet Gas Scrubber system.
- Wet Gas Scrubbing Plus adds integrated NOx absorption to the very successful combined SO2 and particulate control that is favored at refinery FCCU units.
Urea to Ammonia
- First introduced by HRC in 2000 and now used for 20,000 MW of utility SCR, the patented U2A® technology has become the alternative of choice to the use of anhydrous ammonia.
- Increasing restrictions on the transport of ammonia are expected, shifting the balance further towards the urea based alternative.
- HRC’s U2A installation at DTE/Monroe reported 100% on-line reliability in its most recent operating season.
